Zivko “Jimmy” Steriovsky, age 97 of Crown Point, passed away, peacefully Monday, April 10. 2023. Zivko was born in Rotino, Macedonia on July 1, 1925. On June 4, 1963 he along with his family reunited with his father in Gary, Indiana. It had been his wish since he was a young man to come to America for the betterment and prosperity of his family. Upon arriving to the USA, he was a founding member of SS Peter and Paul Macedonian Orhtodox Cathedral. Zivko served in World War II fighting German Forces for his homeland. He was a dedicated auto worker who retired from Budd Company after serveral years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents Trajan and Florinka and sister Cena Goshevski.
Zivko is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years Cveta; two loving children, Dragan “Don” Steriovski and Lela (Liljana) (Zivko) Radujkovich; four cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Meagan, Petar and James; and many other loving relatives, Kumovi and friends both here and in Macedonia.
Zivko’s biggest pleasure in life was his family. He loved his children and grandchildren very much and time spent together was precious to him. He was a doting father and grandfather. His second pleasure in life was smoking cigars. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 11:30am to 12:30 pm at SS Peter & Paul Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral, 9660 Broadway, Crown Point with Funeral Services beginning at 12:30 pm.
