William “Bill” Vaught died peacefully in his daughter Towina’s home on February 16th in Munster, IN at the age of 93.
Bill is survived by his children, William, Jason, Sherry, Rose, Towina, Dowell and Ben; and his 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren }. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary, sons Brian and Tom, daughter Patty,and grandchildren Debra and PFC Nathan Stahl.
Bill was born on October 17, 1932 in Casey County KY to William E Vaught and Florence Pemberton. He graduated from high school in Hustonville KY. He married Mary Bias in 1961. Bill served in the army from 1950-1953 stationed in Germany. Bill worked for Avery Dennison as a paint mixer, and later at Quest Auto as a delivery driver. He was an active and dedicated member of the Hammond Church of Christ. He loved doing puzzles with his wife and playing cards with his children and grandchildren. His family remember him as a kind, hardworking man who served God and cared for his friends and family deeply.
A funeral is scheduled for 10:00AM am on February 19th, 2026 at Calumet Park Funeral Home with a reception to follow at the Lincoln Center. Bill White will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bill’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Calumet Park Funeral Home.
