Walter “Wally” Korotky, from Crown Point, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the age of 92. He is survived by his niece, Theresa Janke of Colorado; his nephew, Robert Korotky of Colorado; and three sisters-in-law: Lillian (Armand) Lopez, Bernice (Late John) Szmutko, and Shirley (Late Tom) Bobin. Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (nee Kordys) Korotky; parents, Andrew and Akulina; and brothers: Al and Harry Korotky, as well as Harry’s wife, Katie.
Walter was a member of Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church and was a past member of Allied Post 369 American Legion. Walter served in the US Army and retired from Inland Steel.
Family and friends may gather DIRECTLY at Protection of The Blessed Virgin Mary (8600 Grand Blvd., Merrillville, In, 46410) on Saturday, October 7, 2023. The viewing is from 9:00am until time of service at 10:30am. Walter will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery.
