Violet M. Quinn, 89, of Hobart, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023.
She is survived by her loving children: Pamela (William Sr.) Eich, Tina (Mark) Szczepaniak, and Jason Quinn; treasured grandchildren: William Jr., Jenifer (Matthew), Jillian, Ashley, and Melinda; many cherished great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Carol, Sophie, and Nancy; and extended family.
She has been welcomed into eternity by her parents, Alfred and Ruby; her beloved husband, Donald Sr; children, Donald Jr. and Jeromi; granddaughter, Melissa; and brothers: Reginald (late Betty), William, Russell, and Timothy.
Violet was a lifelong resident of the region, spending many years working with the Lake County Convalescent Home and in food service at the Lake County jail. She was very active with her church and loved singing in the choir. She was a proud member of the Sisters in Christ, and in her downtime she enjoyed gardening and cheering for her beloved Cubbies.
Above all else, she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 4 – 8 PM at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel (7535 Taft Street, Merrillville). Funeral services will be Friday, October 6, 2023, at 12:30 PM following a brief visitation at 12:00 DIRECTLY at Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church (7950 Marshall St, Merrillville). Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery.
