Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Todor Kostovski, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on February 7, 2026, following a long illness.
He is survived by his cherished wife of nearly 48 years, Nada Kostovski; beloved children: Romeo (Cathy) Kostovski, Aleksandra (Marc) Walker, and Diane Kostovski; his dear grandchildren: Cody, Natasha, Nikolena, Natalia ,and Alexander Kostovski, and Luke and Jude Walker; his sister, Krajna Ilich and brothers, Radic (Bozana) and Pance (Jelica) Jankovski; and many nieces, nephews, family members and kumovi in the U.S., Canada, Macedonia, and Serbia.
He was born in the small village of Lukovica, Macedonia, in the former Yugoslavia. He emigrated to Chicago in 1969 and worked for Republic Steel in South Chicago and then Witco Chemical in Blue Island, Illinois. He lived on the East Side neighborhoods of Chicago, Calumet City, and Crete, Illinois, and made many close friends over his lifetime.
He was known for his sense of humor—everyone remembers him telling stories and jokes at any function—and as a welcoming host. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and had a soft spot for all kids, who brought out his youthful energy. He enjoyed watching sports, especially cheering for Novak Djokovic in tennis and the Chicago Cubs baseball team; playing cards and chess; picking up tennis play in his younger years; and traveling to visit family and friends whenever he was able to. He was a member of St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church in Lansing, Illinois.
Todor was preceded in death by his sister, Slavjanka Smilevski; his brothers, Smiljko and Laze Kostovski; and his parents, Petre and Darinka Kostovski. May his memory be eternal.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 10:00 am with Funeral Service beginning at 11:30 am at St Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church, 1500 186th St., Lansing, Il, with V Rev.
