Timothy Brian McCann, 69, of Merrillville, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Franciscan Health Crown Point. He was born on April 16, 1956, in The Bronx of New York City to the late John and Muriel (Guibord) McCann. On January 14, 2004, in Las Vegas, NV, Tim married his loving wife, Michaelene Stanik. 

Tim is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Michaelene McCann; children, Courtney (John) Lynch, and Kevin (Melissa) McCann; grandchildren, Chace McCann, Henry McCann, Theodore McCann, Archer McCann, Harper McCann, Cooper McCann, and Lincoln Lynch; brothers, John McCann, Kevin (Kathleen) McCann, and Terry McCann; sister-in-law, Jerri (Bob) Martinez; favorite niece, Nikki Martinez; numerous nieces and nephews; beloved companions, Lucky & Timalena; and a loving host of extended family, friends, and acquaintances. 

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his son, Brian McCann; twin brother, James; and sister, Sharon. 

Tim proudly served in the US Navy as a Seabee from 1974 to 1978. He reenlisted in the Navy in the early 1980s and was honorably discharged two years later. Most recently, he worked for ABF Trucking Company as a dockman for 25 years until his retirement. 

In his spare time, Tim enjoyed playing Craps or a solid game of Words with Friends. He could also be found tending to his yard or vegetable garden and completing do-it-yourself projects around the house. 

Tim will be dearly missed by those whose hearts he touched throughout his life. 

Services for Tim will be private but the family will host a celebration of life at a later date in his memory for others to attend. Calumet Park Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with Tim’s funeral arrangements.
