Teresa Ann Mendez, 64, of Hobart, IN, gained her heavenly wings on November 10, 2022. She was born on November 15, 1958 to James and Dorothy Lawson. Teresa was born in Birmingham, Alabama. She went on to perform many job duties in her lifetime, but most of all, her most important job was being loving wife and mother to her family. In her lifetime, she had the opportunity to foster many children whom she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy Lawson, 1 brother: Jimmy Lawson, and 1 grandchild. She is survived by her husband: Manuel Mendez, children: Melissa (Jeremiah) DeYarmin, Michelle Mendez(Gregory Penmen), Manuel Mendez III (Sharon Delacruz), and Christopher Mendez, sister: Brenda Thompson(Mark) , brother: John Lawson (Susan), 10 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson. She is also survived by many uncles, aunts, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family from Alabama, California, and Indiana.
Visitation for Teresa will be held on November 17, 2022 from 4pm-8pm. Funeral services will be held on November 18, 2022 at 10am. All services will be held at Rendina Funeral Home, 5100 Cleveland Street, Gary, IN 46408. Interment will be held at Calumet Park Cemetery.

I have many fond memories of nights with Manny and Teresa in their home in Merrillville. What a fun woman! She will be missed by many! Love you Teresa. Rest In Peace.
