Steven Vorgias, 63, of Portage, passed away on August 21, 2023. He was born in Gary, Indiana to Nicholas and Elaine Vorgias, both of whom precede him in death. He worked as a machine press operator for many years at Anderson Company, and enjoyed playing poker and riding his motorcycle in his spare time.
He is survived by his brother, Nicholas Jr. (Fran) Vorgias and sister, JoAnn Vorgias; sister-in-law, Felisha Vorgias; special niece and nephew, Nicholas III (Pam) Vorgias and Elaine Vorgias; close friends, Nicole and Shawn McConnell; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He is also preceded in death by his brother, Chris Vorgias.
There will be a visitation starting at 9:00 AM until time of prayer service at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel (7535 Taft Street, Merrillville) with entombment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery. For information, please call 219-736-5840.
