REMEMBERING

Scott Robert White

1961

-

2023

Scott Robert White of Crown Point, IN passed away on March 22,2023, after putting up a great fight against cancer. With his wife, Donna by his side. He was born on May 2, 1961 to Sandra Carlson and Robert White.

Scott spent his early working years as a carpenter for McCoy Builders. He enjoyed working as a craftsman and honing his skills as a tradesman.

In 1992, he was able to fulfill his lifelong desire to serve and protect his community. He attended the Police Academy and then honorably served on the Hammond Police Department. He loved sharing stories with us about chasing the “bad guys” down. Whom did not stand a chance against him. Because of this, he was constantly needing new uniforms due to getting stuck on fences etc to capture them.

In 1997, Scott went back into Carpentry at RG Construction, where he was a foreman. While working there, one of his most memorable and rewarding projects was the renovation of Soldier Field in 2003. In 2005 he took a new opportunity at Airtite as a Carpenter Foreman, which is now E&K. At E&K, he was able to demonstrate and leverage his years of experience dealing with multiple construction projects, collaborating with vendors, and most importantly building and developing team members. He truly loved this company and was dedicated to its values and mission as if it were his own. In 2018 he was promoted from General Superintendent to Senior operations Manager. He was a faithful employee who cared about every single person at E&K and treated those like family. Scott undoubtedly left his mark here. Going into early retirement in 2022 was not in his plans.

While not working, Scott enjoyed his time with family, attending birthday parties, traveling, and other gatherings. He was a big fan of all things, sports from basketball to Nascar racing, he enjoyed them all. He also loved being surrounded by his grandchildren, a source of enjoyment and nonstop activities.

Scott was predeceased by his father, Robert White and mother, Sandra Carlson.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, of 39 years.

Daughter and son in law, Jasmine and Victor Lam, and their children Morgan and Tyler.

Daughter and son in law, Aubrey and Tom Kuiper, and their children Mason and Ella.

Daughter, Cherish and her child Olivia.

Daughter and fiancé, Kailee and Jake, and their children Brock, Braylyn, Bentliegh, Roman, Angelina, and Mark.

Scott is also survived by his siblings, sister Toni Spinasanto (John) their children Brandon,  Robert, Lisa and Jonny. His brother Greg White(Lynda), and sister Kristy Hoffereth (Brian) and their children, Braydon, Kimeryn, and Connor. Scott was an “Academy Brother” of mine in 1992 in Plainfield. Wonderful person. Soft spoken but also loved a good party. My condolences to his whole family. God Bless and may he rest in peace.

Scott was such a wonderful person. I also went to the Indiana police academy with Scott; class 92-111.
His carpentry skills were legendary. He built my first house and finished two basements for me. I’ll forever remember the good times on the job with him, and playing FOP basketball too. Condolences to Donna, their children and extended family. He will be truly missed.
