Our dear Sandra Rae McBrayer went home to be with Jesus Saturday morning, February 1, 2025. Sandy was born in Gary, IN, November 13, 1956, to Archie and Patricia (Boston) McBrayer.
Sandy was a Christian, she regularly attended church. Sandy was preceded in death by her loving parents, Archie and Patricia McBrayer, her sister, Cathy Frailey, and her brother, Ray McBrayer.
Sandy is survived by her sister, Joanne (Jay) Kaurich, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Sandy graduated in 1975 from Lew Wallace High School, Gary, IN. She had a passion for sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She and two of her cousins, Debra Lugar and Lynne Jacobs, belonged to a Quilting Club. One year, Sandy’s quilt was awarded “Grand Champion” at the LaPorte County Fair. Sandy was employed by Lake County Government Center for 27 years.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 12:30 p.m., at the Rendina Funeral Home (5100 Cleveland St, Gary, IN) with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. John Haferkamp, Minister from the “I” Street Church of Christ, LaPorte, IN, officiating. Internment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to honor Sandy may be given to the “I” Street Church of Christ Benevolent Outreach Program, 1616 “I” Street, LaPorte, IN.
