Sandra R. Blaney, 84, recently of Valparaiso and Portage, IN, passed away on January 17, 2026. She is survived by her loving daughters: Beth (Keith) Larson of Valparaiso, IN, and Stephanie (William) Greener of Tucson, AZ.
She is preceded in death by her dear parents, Robert and Mary Ward; her beloved husband, James; and her cherished grandson, John Larson.
Sandra was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved to cook, tend to her garden, and spend time with her family. She worked outside of the home at NIPSCO and as a beloved teaching assistant at Nobel Elementary School. She was a long-time member of the American Legion Post 260 out of Portage, and was also a member of the “Happy Hookers” who enjoyed time and company with others as they created crochet projects.
Sandra requested no services, but will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
