Ruth Root (nee Hefner) age 99 of Crown Point, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2023. Ruth was a homemaker all of her life. She married Ralph Root on February 12, 1945 on her birthday. Ralph precedes her in death.
She is survived by her son Stephen Root; and daughter Sharon (Robert) Lawler; 2 grandsons, Christopher (Stacy) Lawler and Michael (Chrissy) Lawler and 5 great grandchildren.
Ruth loved gardens of flowers and truly enjoyed helping others. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.

I have nothing but good memories of Aunt Ruth. But when they moved out of state, I lost touch with seeing them. I used to stay with them I was younger than Steve by a year or two, I think, and older than Sharon. I just realized a few years ago what a tongue twister it is to say “Ralph and Ruth Root” Cause we just said Uncle Ralph and Aunt Ruth. Rest in Piece Aunt Ruth
