Roy Forbis Truax, 79, of Merrillville, Indiana, passed away on June 14, 2025 at Franciscan Heath Crown Point. He was born in 1945 to the late Alice and Roy Truax. He is preceded in death by his dear sister, Rose Ellen. Survived by his loving sister, Mary Anne (Robert) Green of Anchorage, AK; nieces: Megan (Kaare) Helgesen of Anchorage, AK, and Michele (Kristof) Leopold of Charlotte, NC; close cousin and friend, Michele (Dr. Randolph) Roberts of St. John, IN; and many beloved cousins and extended family.

Roy served proudly in the Navy, assigned in the late 60’s at Naval Station Great Lakes. After his term, he went on to retire from his position as a foreman from U.S. Steel after 40 years of service. In his spare time and after retirement, he enjoyed keeping his mind and hands working by being an avid reader and skilled woodworker.

Visitation will be from 10 AM – 1 PM on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Rendina Funeral Home (5100 Cleveland Street, Gary, 46408). Interment with military honors to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.
