Rosa Solis, 78, of Gary, Indiana, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 19, 2023. She was born in Sombreretillo, Mexico on August 30, 1945, to Raymundo and Maria Elodia Garza Garza. She married Alonzo Solis on May 02, 1968, and celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Rosa loved being with her family. She dedicated her entire life to them. Rosa enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing. She was a devoted member of Christian Revival Center in Merrillville, Indiana. She enjoyed spending time with her church family. She was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymundo and Maria Elodia Garza Garza and one sister, Yoyis de Moreno.
Rosa is survived by husband, Alonzo Solis; and nine siblings; Tito (Chavela), Raymundo (Emma), Pablo (Patty), Arturo (Eva), Mirta (Salvador), Irma (Marin), Mary (Hector), Laurie, and Victoriana. She has one son, Daniel Solis (Denise), four daughters, Sandra (Wi-oja-ja) Gomez, Donna (William) Mendoza, Dianna (Mark) Noel, Rosie (Michael) Otano and twenty one grandchildren, Tatiana (George), Gabe (Justyna), Jackie, Patricia (Josey), Alexia (Mario), Serena, Tori (Dan), Drew, Celeste, Matthew, Daniel Jr., Bishop, Kimimela, Mykelle, White Snow, Lionheart, Benjamin, Azalea, Gabrielle, Zuriel, and Michael; nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to visit from 4 – 8 PM on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Christian Revival Center (805 W 57th Ave, Merrillville, IN 46410), with eulogy at 7:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 28, 2023, DIRECTLY at Christian Revival Center with Pastor Michael Otano officiating. Burial to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery.
