Roberta Darlene Mears (nee Meyer) of Portage, Indiana, passed away October 26, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born April 4, 1948, to Robert and Betty Meyer, both of whom precede her in death. She is also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Wynell and Craig Anstead of Gary, IN; and nephew, Dustin Quenett, of Hobart, IN.
She is survived by her son, Ronald (Kathy) Mears of Gary, IN; daughter, Rhonda (Scott Bartke) Lynn of Portage, IN; grandchildren: Kyle Hixon of Portage, IN, Kayla (Jack) McGallian of Texas, and Cody Hixon of Portage; great grandchildren: Kaylee, Blake, and Sophee in Texas; sisters: Lenore (Jerry) Rich and Carol Quenette; and brother, Aaron (Marty) Meyer; and lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Roberta will forever be known for her adventurous spirit and loved for her spit fire attitude, and she will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
Friends and family are invited to visit from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Rendina Funeral Home (5100 Cleveland Street, Gary, Indiana). Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Bob Parnell at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 2, 2023, also at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville.
