Roberta (nee Penzato) Costa passed away Monday, December 11, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family in Crown Point, IN. Robbie, as she was lovingly known, was 69 years old.
She was born August 5, 1954, in Gary, IN, and spent much of her life in the region, taking a break from the harsh winters to spend 10 years in Arizona. She graduated from Lew Wallace High School, Class of 1972, and spent over 20 years of service working as an Ultrasound Technician at Broadway Methodist and Arrowhead hospitals in Arizona.
She is welcomed into eternity by her parents, Violet and Ono Penzato, and first husband, Rick Bartolomeo.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 21 years, Craig Costa; children: Tony (Angela) Bartolomeo and Gina (Dave) Hall; step children: David (Jenny) Costa, Danny Costa, Derek (Jessica) Costa, and Tony (Lexi) Costa; treasured grandchildren: Mya, Tony, Rocco, Luke, Lucy, Olivia, Elaina, and Amelia; brother, Onie (Coral) Penzato; sisters: Joey (Peter) Ives, and Lori (Tom) Rea; and a host of extended family and friends.
Robbie was a kind, compassionate, and loving person with a great sense of humor. She truly made everyone laugh every single day. Her positive energy and spirit were a joy to be around. Everyone who was lucky enough to know her…loved her!!!
Robbie adored her husband, children, family, and friends. She was happiest spending time with her family and friends, decorating her homes, and enjoying great food (Cheese Pizza!).
She will truly be missed by all who were blessed to have known her.

Robbie was a wonderful aunt. And a great sister in law and wonderful friend to my mom. Her smile and laugh brought laughter to a room. Condolences to all her family.
We welcomed Robbie into the Bartolomeo family many years ago and have adored her ever since. I met Robbie at ISU, she was bubbly and sweet. I instantly liked her warm smile, striped knee socks, and giggles. Robbie then became my dear sister-in-law, and I always looked forward to sharing conversations about our children, food, decorating , friends, and life. She liked getting up early, a trait I don’t share, and it impressed me how she organized her busy day with ease. Her smile always brightened a room, and her hospitality made everyone feel special. She was a loving mother and wife, family and friends meant everything to her.
Our condolences to Tony and Gina and their families, Craig and his family, Robbie’s family and close friends.
Heaven received another angel when Robbie arrived! ❤️🙏
