Robert A. Kleinhans “Bob”, of Crown Point, IN, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025.

Bob is survived by his adoring wife of 57 yrs, Joyce Kleinhans; his loving children: son, Todd Kleinhans (Lisa), and daughter Amy Cary (Tim); four dear grandsons: Kameron Kleinhans, Korbin Kleinhans, Gage Cary, and Xander Cary; three cherished great-grandchildren: Harlow, Rowyn and River Kleinhans; and extended family

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. Kleinhans Sr. and Eleanor Kleinhans; and his son, Bobby Kleinhans.

Bob was born March 8, 1947, in Great Falls, MT.  He spent his childhood days in Montana before moving to Illinois in his teens.  Bob met the love of his life, Joyce, at the Chicago Conservatory of Music where they shared a love of music and playing hookie from class.  Bob was a dedicated Christian and follower of God and most recently was a member of the Impact Christian Church in Merrillville, IN.  Although he had many jobs throughout his life the one most everyone will remember him for is piano tuning and repair.  His loyal customers in Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan will remember him for his dedication to perfecting his skill as a tuner, his kindness, his generosity and of course for his mini concerts at the end of a tuning. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, and will be missed tremendously.

The family would like to give Haven Hospice and Dunes Hospice a special thanks for their loving care of Bob.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

A letter from his wife days before he passed:
Dear Husband,
It’s only a matter of hours now, four long years you have been trapped in this body and now blessed release.
Thank you, Lord, for this wonderful partner.  Receive him to his just reward, into your everlasting arms.
