Robert Allen Brayfield entered this world July 17, 1940 and left it February 16, 2023. Bob was born to Herman Brayfield and Evelyn Allen Brayfield. He was raised in Wheeler by his grandparents, Joseph and Leona Allen.

Bob met Diana Cornwell in October 1957 and they were married in December of that year. They recently celebrated their 65th anniversary.

He retired from US Steel, Gary Works and had attended Indiana University.

Bob is survived by the love of his life Diana; daughter Desiree (Mark) Durr and 2 sons, Robert (Late Patty)  and Richard.

He had 6 grandchildren, Ric Pasley, Jacob Durr, Bradley Brayfield, Mitchell Brayfield, Melissa Brayfield, Benjamin Brayfield.

Also surviving are brothers John (Arlene) Wise, Ralph (Late Cheryl) Campion, and Thomas (Elisabeth) Brayfield. Sisters: Karen (Late Russ) Boger, Carol (Charles) Hannah, Mary Sampson, and  Karen Lund.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Also preceding were sisters Deleen Cook and Margaret (Peggy) Puckett.

Bob loved camping, gardening, and roller skating. He loved his large family and looked forward to the annual Allen Family Reunion where he got to see his brothers and sisters and the next 4 generations of family.
