Rene Rios, of Schererville, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023, at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was 53 years old.
He has left to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Tina; 5 cherished children: Antonio, Andrea, Allyson, Angel, and Alaina; treasured granddaughters: Annabella, Emily, and Riley; brother, Jesus; sisters, Lisa Rios and Latricia (Greg) Whooley; his special cousin, Jessica Garcia, who was raised as a sister; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family; and a host of friends – among them, his best friends: Simon, Cody, Tom and Mick.
He is welcomed into Heaven by his mother, Yolanda Rios, and stepfather, David Guajardo.
Rene was a truck driver for many years and a jokester for many more. The laughter that he brought will continue to echo throughout the many lives he has touched. He was also a tried-and-true Cubs fan. He was a man of God and loved attending services at the Family Christian Center. More than anything in the world, he was a proud and loving husband and father. He will be missed dearly by all who were blessed to have known him.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 4:00 PM until time of service. Calumet Park Funeral Chapel (7535 Taft Street, Merrillville, In 46410). Pastor Poet Billups officiating. Cremation to follow.
