Patricia Ann “Pat” (Toth) Gilarski, 87, of Gary, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at her home. She was born on July 12, 1938, in Gary, to the late Steven and Mary (Elot) Toth. 

Pat is survived by her son, John Franczak; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Mary) Toth, and James (Judy) Toth; and uncle, Andrew Szocka. 

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by the father of her son, Joseph Franczak; husband, Stanley Gilarski; and sister, Nancy Yoko. 

Pat loved to dabble in the craft world and was known for winning multiple awards at the local county fair. In her early years, she won multiple beauty pageant contests. Most importantly, family was everything to Pat and she adored spending time with everyone, especially her grandkids. 

Pat will best be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and niece who had an infectious smile that would light up any room. She, along with all the love and joy she shared, will be dearly missed by those whose hearts she touched throughout her life. 

In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation has been chosen. Rendina Funeral Home of Gary has been entrusted with cremation arrangements.
