Nada Marjanov (Nee Zorljenac) age 89 of Portage, passed away on January 23, 2023. She was born in Tomasevac Serbia (former Yugoslavia) on October 1,1933. She married Steva Marjanov in 1949 and started a family. She emigrated to Germany and a few years later; her children; Dobrila and Djurica were finally allowed to leave to join their parents in Germany. Nada and her family were brought here by her brother and sister-in-law, Stojan and Sofia Zorljenac. Nada worked at Arthur Wiener, Bronko’s Pizza, and the Portage School System. She was a faithful member of the St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox church in Merrillville, Indiana. She loved singing in the choir, which she did for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years; Steva, her parents; Branko and Velinka (nee Carevic) Zorljenac, daughter Zivka, and brothers and sisters. She is survived by her two devoted children, daughter Dobrila (Wayne) Samardzich; son Djurica (Anica) Marjanov; beloved Grandsons; Aleksander (Dana) and Andrija (Marki) Samardzich, grandson Stevan (Monica) Marjanov; granddaughter Viera (Joel) Mora; five cherished great grandchildren: Luke and Arya Samardzich, Joca and Nikola Mora and Milena Marjanov. Niece Velinka (Ranko) Cucuz and their family. Vjecnaja Pamjat! May her memory be eternal.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 9:00 AM St Elijah Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 8700 Taft St, Merrillville with Funeral Services beginning at 10:00 AM. V. Rev.
