Mitzie Diane Marianetti (née Fowler), beloved sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother of Weeki Wachee, FL peacefully passed away on August 24, 2026, at the age of 81.

Mitzie is survived by her dear brother, James (Lonnie) Fowler; her four loving children: Teresa (Michael) Oprisko, Sheryl (Radoslaw) Oksimowicz, Lisa Marianetti, and Michael Marianetti; her treasured grandchildren: Emily (Jared) Jeffress, Logan (Delaney) Filbert, Samantha (Dustin) Smith, Maggie Oksimowicz, and Ava Marianetti; and her cherished great-grandchildren: Remington and Willow Jeffress, and Weston and Clayton Filbert; and many, many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends whom she loved so much.

She was born on February 16, 1945 in Penn Rose, AR to the late Lora and Clarence Fowler.

Mitzie will be remembered for the love and dedication she gave to her family. She worked hard to make sure her children had everything they needed while growing up and always put her family first. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. CST on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 7535 Taft Street, Merrillville, IN 46410. A time of fellowship and celebration of life will begin at 11:00 a.m..

A private burial service for immediate family will follow at 12:00 noon CST at Calumet Park Cemetery, 2305 W. 73rd Avenue, Merrillville, IN 46410.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be made to a local animal rescue in Mitzie’s memory.
