Mildred Bernice Hayden, Age 90, passed away peacefully on December 22nd, 2023 at her home in Cedar Lake, Indiana.
Mildred was born in Hayward, California on November 9th, 1933, to Melvin and Phillis Puckeylow. She was preceded in death by her husband William Hayden, sister Doris Cellani, brother Harold Puckeylow, and sister Jeanie Raines.
Mildred lived her early life in California where she worked for Montgomery Wards, then was married moving to Lake Tahoe, and back to the Bay Area living in Hayward and Fremont, California. In 1974 relocating to Gary, Indiana. Millie loved to read books, yard sales, shopping and holidays, loved animals, and always took in strays. She loved music and dancing and belonged to the Moose and Croatian Clubs. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her furry kids.
Millie left a mark on everyone she met, even through her illness never complaining and always a smile. Mildred is survived by her son William Hayden Jr. (Patricia Hayden) granddaughters Ashley Hayden, and Heather Hixon (Edward Hixon), grandson William Hayden III, and great-grandchildren Aiden Hixon. And other extended family members.
She will be greatly missed by friends and family along with leaving a lasting legacy of love and friendship and being there for everyone she knew and didn’t know. November 9th, 1933-December 22nd, 2023
