Michael R. Uhter, of Owensboro, KY, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 in Louisville, KY. He was 68 years old.

Mike was born in Gary, IN and graduated from Lowell High School in 1973. He served our country with the US Marine Corps for 3 years. He worked for The Times of Northwest Indiana for 30 years as a carrier, manager and distributor. In his free time, Mike enjoyed cheering on the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. Mike’s alter ego, Mud Dogs, competed for 30 years with his fantasy baseball and football leagues, Grumpy Old Men and Homewood Daze, respectively.

Mike is survived by his mother, Lois; his wife, Gail; sisters: Evonne (Kevin) Molchan and Rita (Gary) Fields; brother-in-law: David Burkhardt; children: Brandi (Corby) Ricks, Brianna Bieker, Katrina (Thomas F.) Price, Matthew Bieker, James Keenan (Macy West) Spikes; grandchildren: Ethan, Breanna, Charlie, Thomas E., Mabel, and Ezra; and many nieces, nephews and dear family friends, particularly: Char, Sabrina and Jordan.

Mike is preceded in death by his father, George Uhter and his sister, Julie Burkhardt.

Mike’s legacy will always be that of a devoted and loyal son, husband, father and friend.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Mike’s life on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 10am to 12pm at Rendina Funeral Home (5100 Cleveland Street, Gary, IN) with service beginning at 12pm. Internment at Mount Mercy Cemetery to immediately follow.
