Michael Paul Freeman, 50, of Hobart, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 29, 2026, in Gary. He was born on December 20, 1975, in Gary, to Rodney M. and Patricia J. (Tonevich) Freeman, who both survive.
In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his brother, Chris (Melissa) Freeman; aunts, Laura (Robert) Shiner, Candace Alicastro, Sandra Tonevich, and Debra Brewer; uncles, Thomas Tonevich, and Darnell Brewer; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his aunt, Ramona Tonevich, and uncle, Charles Freeman.
Michael will best be remembered as a fun-loving, compassionate, and kind man who was always known to be the life of the party. He, along with all the love and joy he shared, will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Services for Michael will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 7535 Taft Street, Merrillville, IN 46410, with visitation from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 PM Tuesday evening with Deacon Thomas Gryzbek officiating. Following Michael’s services, cremation will be taking place.
