Michael “Mikey” Jay Reyna died unexpectedly on 07/16/25 in Hammond, IN at the age of 16. Michael Jay Reyna was born on January 17, 2009 in Merrillville , Indiana to Angela Uvalle and Joseph Reyna. 

Michael Jay Reyna attended Scott Middle School, where he was an avid basketball player with a deep love for the game. Basketball was his passion, and he often spoke about his dream of making it to the NBA and taking care of his mom when he achieved success.

Michael Jay Reyna is preceded in death by Hope Uvalle, Abel Perez, Jackie Morales, Joseph Morales, Joseph Uvalle, Greg Uvalle Gina Uvalle, of Hammond Indiana. 

Michael Reyna is survived by parents, Angela Uvalle (Ernesto Jones) and Joseph Reyna & Myeisha of Hammond/ East Chicago; siblings Names; Daniella Uvalle, Elisia Uvalle, Joseph Reyna, Anthony Reyna, Angelina Reyna, and Angelo. 

Michael was a vibrant, social young man who loved being surrounded by family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his siblings, creating videos with his friends/girlfriend online, cooking, and sharing special moments with his mom. His laughter, energy, and warm spirit touched everyone who knew him.
