Michael Anthony Valdez, age 48 of Hammond, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on May 31st, 2025, just two days before his 48th birthday.
Born on June 2nd, 1977, in Hammond, Michael was a proud son, father, uncle, brother, friend, and partner. He will be remembered for his infectious energy, love of music, and unmatched sneaker collection. A passionate DJ, Michael, or best known as DJ Dominator, could always be found behind the turntables at family gatherings, community events, or wherever good vibes were needed.
Michaelโs greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his children: Michael, Alonna, Anthony, Gabrielle, Marcos, Danielle, and Maliha, as well as his beloved stepdaughter, Nadia. He also leaves behind his mother, Lisa, and stepfather, Juan. Siblings: Larry, Alyssa, and Melissa. He shared his life with his significant other, Alicia, whose love and partnership meant the world to him.
He is also lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles, grandchildren, and a host of dear friends who were like family to him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved infant daughter and grandmother, Adriana Malave – Valdez and Ramona Guardiola.
Michael lived life with rhythm, style, and heart. His legacy will continue through the music he shared, the shoes he cherished, and the love he gave so freely.ย
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 7535 Taft Street, Merrillville, IN 46410, from 2pm to 5pm. Service will begin at 5pm. A repast will follow. Additional details to be shared at the service.
