Mary Ann Fink (Rysiewicz), age 81, passed away on October 2nd, 2026.
Mary Ann was a wonderful listener, a worldwide traveler, an enthusiastic White Sox fan, a reader of history and mystery novels, a dedicated teacher, and a loving wife to her late husband, Gerald Fink.
Mary Ann was born on November 6th, 1944, and raised in East Chicago, Indiana. She earned her Master’s degree in Education from Purdue University. She met her future husband, Jerry, in Chicago, where he caught her attention by memorizing her phone number and calling her the next day, but she really started to fall for him during their first date at a White Sox game. They married in 1974 and together, their desire to explore the world side-by-side led them to live in six states and take opportunities to cruise and appreciate the world. They remained completely enamored with each other throughout their lives, bringing a lightheartedness and a little spunk wherever they went.
Mary Ann will be missed by so, so many. She loved her family and friends fiercely. She remembered and commemorated every special event through photographs and cards and phone calls, but above all, she made you feel listened to, accepted, and loved.
She is survived by her brother, Edward A. “Sweet Boy” Rysiewicz, and sister-in-law, Barbara “Honey,” six “Kiddos” nieces, six grand-nieces, and two grand-nephews “Sweeties.” She is predeceased in death by her husband, Gerald Fink, sister, Linda Nicosia, parents, Edward J. and Helen Rysiewicz, and nephew, Derek.
Mary Ann was a four-year resident of Story Point, where she formed bonds that kept her intellectually engaged, spiritually invigorated, and endlessly entertained with the kind friends she met there.
