In Loving Memory of Marie (Mostello) Bremer
September 1, 1939 – October 21, 2025
Marie Bremer (Mostello), age 86, of Gary, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on September 1, 1939, in Bluefield, West Virginia, to Antonio and Rosa Mostello.
Marie is survived by her devoted son, Derek (Mary); cherished grandchildren Nathan (Nicole), Desirae (Edward), Kristina (Adam), Cyle (Margi), Kory (Savannah), Emily (Daniel); and her beloved great-grandchildren Taylor, Tristan, Bailey, River, Brody, Peyton, Kameron, and Casey. She is also survived by her brothers James, Anthony, Thomas (Brenda), and John (Becki); and her brother-in-law Paul (Donna). She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey, her daughter Cynthia, her parents Antonio and Rosa, her sisters Frances, Mary, Pauline, and her brother Frank.
Marie was a proud graduate of Tolleston High School. Soon after, she met the love of her life, Harvey, and together they built a beautiful life centered on family, love, and laughter. Marie devoted herself to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother — roles she embraced wholeheartedly.
In her younger years, Marie enjoyed bowling and going out dancing, always the life of the party with a warm smile and kind heart. At home, she found her greatest joy surrounded by her family and her loyal dog Remi. Marie loved cooking and baking for those she loved, and her famous Angel Food Cake and homemade spaghetti and meatballs will be remembered by all who were lucky enough to enjoy them.
In her quiet moments, Marie could often be found watching her favorite shows Judge Judy, Wheel of Fortune, and Dancing with the Stars. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her warmth, and the love she poured into every person and every meal she shared.
Marie’s love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
