Margaret J. Strnad, known to many as “Peg”, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at the age of 91. She was born in Sault St. Marie, Michigan, to George and Lola Crane (nee Monk).

She is survived by her twin sister, Patricia, and many generations of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She has joined in Heaven: her parents; her dear husband, Robert Strnad and their beloved son, Robin; her sister, Betty Kelly; her very special niece, Katherine Metz-Barriero; and her best friend and partner, Bruce Ayers.

In her younger years, Peg enjoyed and excelled in figure skating, competing in competitions with her sister Pat. She had a talented green thumb and loved caring for her flowers and gardens. She kept herself busy with crocheting projects and was a wonder in the kitchen as well. She was devout in her faith, loved the Lord with everything that she had, and cared deeply for her family and community.

Peg will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who were blessed to have known her.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 11:00 – 12:00 at Rendina Funeral Home (5100 Cleveland Street, Gary, IN) followed by procession to Oak Hill Cemetery, Gary, for graveside committal services.
