Margaret Allen Christensen (MAC) of Portage, Indiana, formerly of Lake Station, passed away on Wednesday, June 28th, 2023, with her children and grandchildren by her side. She was born in Gary IN to the late Cecil & Elizabeth Shawver. She is preceded in death by her sisters: Jackyln Biers and Madalyn Chubbs; and her loving fiance of 27 years, Victor Aloia. Margaret is survived by her children: Victor (Shelly) Aloia, Robert Leip, William (Melissa) Christensen, David Besaw, Elizabeth (Coty) McCay, John Besaw, and Samantha (Christopher) Christensen; Stepchildren, Gloria (Zack) Hardesty and Kay’la Burney; and nieces and nephews who were like her own children: Jenni, Chrissy, and Bobby. Margaret loved to hunt, fish, be outside, and to volunteer in her spare time. She was a volunteer firefighter for many years at Independence Hill. She was also known for taking in any kind of animal and raising them or nursing them back to health. Margaret will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Private services for immediate family provided by Rendina Funeral Home and Calumet Park Crematory.

Aunt Marge you were such a wonderful person and will be truly missed. So many good memories during the childhood years that will always remain in my heart.
My deepest condolences for all the family.
I was so sorry to hear of Marge’s passing….have many fond memories of visiting Uncle Dwight and Aunt Betty and spending time with the girls…Jackie was my age. I can still hear Aunt Betty calling for her “MARGE”…..my love to her family…..Denice
