Lou (Lueda) Mae Roy

Valparaiso, IN

Lou M. Roy, age 89, peacefully passed away on March 8th, 2024. She was born on October 26, 1934, in Elkins, West Virginia, to Harry Gear and Pauline (McCollum) Wooten.

Lou is survived by her adoring children, her three sons, William (Angel) Sabo, Douglas Roy and Philip (Beth) Roy; sister, Gail (Jon) Schier; three granddaughters, Melissa (Jason), Carla (Justin), Madyson, grandson Carson; many nieces and nephews and loving freinds. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 31 years, Arthur George Roy; and her brothers Harry Lane Gear, Victor Gear, and Joseph Cameron Wooten.

Lou worked at Anderson Company for over 25 years where she then retired. She was a classy woman, with exceptional style, always the best dressed. She volunteered regularly at the Portage Resale Shop. Lou was a God fearing woman, who loved to share the word of Jesus. She loved to go to church, where she met a lot of her friends and they would get together for lunch and play pinochle. She loved spending time with her grandkids, hosting holiday dinners and cooking for her family. She loved to make Christmas cookies, but was known for her delicious chocolate and peanut butter fudge, and she really enjoyed all of her travels.

Friends may meet with her family from 3-7 PM on Thursday, March 14th at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 370 N County Line Road, Hobart.  Funeral Service will be held directly at the funeral chapel on Friday, March 15th at 10 AM with Pastor Mark Hostetler officiating.  Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery.

My Sister- an angel here on earth. She shared so much about her faith and relationship with Jesus, love of family and her words of wisdom. We laughed, cried and joked with each other and treasured the memories we shared. I love you so very much and miss you terribly.
