Linda Christine Millis (76) of Portage Indiana peacefully passed away in her home Wednesday April 3, 2024.
She is survived by her daughter Sheri Hielsberg; grandchildren: Jacob (Jennifer) Varella, and Yazmyn Hielsberg; great grandchildren: Bailey and Jacob Varella, and soon to be third great grandchild; brothers: Kenneth (Karyn) Urbaniak and Jeffery (Kellene) Urbaniak; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Proceeded in death by loving husband Edward Millis and parents William Thomas and LaVerne Urbaniak.
Linda was born February 8, 1948 in Gary Indiana. She was a devout Roman Catholic and attended St. Patrick Catholic Community with unwavering faith.
Linda was a true example of strength, resilience and grace. She gave without measure and loved without end. Linda was an absolute beacon of light with constant positivity that was truly inspiring. She was decisive, thoughtful, generous and always without judgement. She was witty with an infectious full laugh and knowledge on many subjects.
Linda leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion and faith, from stories of her life experiences, her light on this Earth will truly be missed by all lucky enough to know her.

Memorial Mass for Linda will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 15, 2024, DIRECTLY at St Patrick’s Parish (638 N Calumet, Chesterton, IN 46304) Father Jon Plavcan officiating.
Inurnment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.
** Line up for procession to the cemetery will begin at 11:30 AM at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel (7535 Taft Street, Merrillville). Please meet at the funeral chapel before continuing to the graveside committal service.
