Lee Fitzgerald, age 79 of Gary, Indiana passed away peacefully on October 20, 2023, at Community Hospital.  She was born October 19, 1944 in Ridgley, Tennessee, to the late Charles Brooks and the late Lucy Miner-Brooks in Sikeston, Missouri.  She was a graduate of O’Bannon High School Class of 1964.  Lee held various Customer Service positions but chose to become a Domestic Engineer for her loving family. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Gary, Indiana over 45 years ago.  Lee is preceded in death by her parents Charles Brooks and Lucy Brooks, sister Bernice Brooks-Jones, and Loving husband of 55 years, Freddie Fitzgerald.  She will be missed dearly by her loving son Everette (Talisha) Fitzgerald Sr; Special daughter Daphne Bryant-Robinson; 2 special Grandsons Everette Fitzgerald Jr and Joshua Fitzgerald; Loyal family pet Kimber Fitzgerald; 2 brothers Charles Brooks of Sikeston, Missouri, Clarence Brooks of Shreveport, Louisiana; 2 sisters Alice (George) Pollard of Columbia, Tennessee, and Bobby (Jesse) Edmond of Diehlstadt, Missouri; Special Friends Elmer (Sadie) Pollard, Homer (Rose) Brown and Gwendolynn West; and a host of Loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
