Larry Dale Kirby, 65, of Gary, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Community Hospital in Munster. He was born on July 10, 1961, in Paw Paw, MI, to the late Otis and Sarah (Mardis) Kirby. On June 20, 1981, in Gary, Larry married the love of his life, Jeana Whiteside. 

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Jeana Kirby; son, Larry Dale Kirby; granddaughter, Alexis Craft; siblings, Cathy Goen, Jerry (Sheila) Kirby, and Garry Kirby; his beloved dog, Bama; and a loving host of extended family and friends. 

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Samantha Kirby, and sister, Vicki Summers. 

Larry worked as a delivery driver for Great Lakes Peterbilt for over 25 years. 

In his spare time, Larry enjoyed working on older cars and hot rods, going to car shows and drag strip races, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and cheering on his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide football team and NASCAR drivers. 

Larry will best be remembered as a jokester and someone who was always willing to help another in need. He, along with all the love and joy he shared, will be dearly missed by all who knew him. 

Services for Larry will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Rendina Funeral Home, 5100 Cleveland Street, Gary, IN 46408, with visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A private burial will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crown Point, IN.
