John H Reynolds Sr, 81, of Lake Station, IN, passed away on December 7th, 2022, surrounded by all his children.
He is survived by his 3 children: Lynda (Dan) Herring of Hilliard, FL, Jennifer (Paul) Sosa of Portage, IN, and John H Reynolds Jr of Burns Harbor, IN, 10 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years: Dorothy M. Reynolds, beautiful daughter: Susan Marie Jones, 2 brothers: Harry F. Reynolds II and Robert D. Reynolds.
He was our everything, our strength, leader, protector, and most of all, our best friends.
John was a devoted father, and avid hunter of 46 years. He enjoyed passing on his knowledge of hunting to others. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and teasing his son John Jr. when the Packers would beat the Bears. He was also a strong leader for the safety committee when he worked at US Steel, or later organizing the retiree’s gatherings. Our dad’s main love was for his family he loved deeply. He gave all he could to his family. He will be greatly missed by all.
In honoring John, please wear Green Bay Packer or camouflage attire when showing your respects for him. He wouldn’t want it any other way.
Visitation will be held Monday December 12, 2022 from 10AM-1PM with funeral services to follow at 1PM. Services will be held at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 370 N County Line Road, Hobart, IN 46342. Interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park, locating in Hobart, IN.
