John Edward Sebben, 90, of Merrillville, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
He was born to Arthur and Pauline Sebbon in Gary, Indiana, on December 1st 1934.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army out of high school in 1957 and had the great fortune to meet the love of his life, Loni, while in Wierbaden, Germany. They were married in Germany, and then returned to Gary to carry out the rest of their lives together.
After release from the Army, John became a bricklayer and a member of BAC Local 4 and went into a partnership with his father to create and operate Sebben & Son Mason Contractors.
John was blessed to live a full, accomplished life surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
He joins in eternity, his parents, and his beloved Loni, who has been waiting patiently for him since October 15, 2015.
He is survived by his cherished daughter, Susan Diana Lau and her husband, Wolfgang Lau..
Per John’s wishes, not formal services were not planned.

My condolences on the passing of your father, John. I remember John, and his father, Art, very well, while I was my building my home on 63rd Ct. John and Art were both very kind and pleasant to me, during the construction, on the street homes. Always offering great advice, on building the home. May God grant him eternal life, and memory eternal
