Jimmie Lee Richardson was born May 5, 1931, to Louis and Matilda Richardson in Hurtsboro, Alabama, the first of five children born to them.
He met and married Johnnie Mae on February 22, 1955, and they were married for 66 years. He worked for US Steel for 44 years, and he enjoyed gardening, fishing, watching sports of all kinds, and he lived life to the fullest. Jimmie Lee Richardson passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at UC Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Jimmie Lee is preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Mae Richardson; parents, Louis and Matilda Richardson; sisters: Anna Mae (Roebuck) Swanson and Vera Richardson; and brother, David (Mary) Richardson.
He is survived by one sister, Dorothy Dinkins; three daughters: Linda D. Sconiers, Lisa M. Bryant, and Patricia (Virgil) Garrett; two sons: Jimmie L. Richardson and Michael Richardson, and Thomas Grays, who was like a son to him. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Angela Sconiers, Shawana Bowling, Shalika Allison, Stephon Sconiers, Jasmine Gates, and Camrin Garrett; 18 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
