Janice G. Matlove, age 75, of Merrillville, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2nd, 2024. Janice was born on September 23rd, 1948 in Gary, IN. Her mother Anna raised her with her step father Slobodan Gligic from childhood whom Janice loved very much. Janice was known for having a good heart, honest, and a wonderful sense of humor. She never allowed her challenges to get in the way of extending love to those around her. Janice loved to dance and always remembered birthdays and anniversaries of those she loved. Janice believed in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and now walks with Him healthy and whole in the Kingdom of Heaven.

She was preceded in death by her parents Anna and Slobodan Gligic and her beloved brother Milan Gligic. 

Janice was survived by her loving sister Milica (Radivoje) Todorovich; adored Nieces and Nephews Donna Todorovich, David Todorovich, Mileva (Jovan) Savich, Dusan (Karen) Gligic, Stanko (Brooke) Gligic; cherished great-neices and great-nephews Nikolina, Violet, David, June, Milan, Stevan, Gabriela and Aleksandar; one cousin Marlene Peters and sister-in-law Diane Gligic. 

Janice will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who loved her. She was a special person who had a heart full of genuine love for everyone. May her memory be eternal.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 10 am at the Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 7535 Taft St, Merrillville with a Funeral Service beginning at 11am. Interment Calumet Park Cemetery. For further information please call Mileva or David at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel 219-736-5840.

Janice was a happy soul. She didn’t have a mean bone in her body. Her challenges were many,but she went through those with grace. Eternal peace be with her.
