Harold J. Johnson, Gary, IN/formerly of Carbon Hill, AL passed away on Sunday February 16, 2025 at the age 83. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce Johnson, sister Minnie (Jim) Randle of Fairhope, AL daughter, Katherine Feeler(special friend Philip) of Portage, IN and son James Johnson of Gary, IN; Grandchildren Jorie (Jason) Witcher, Nathan Feeler, Christopher ( fiancé Marie Puckett) Johnson, Alyssia Johnson, Conner Johnson, Addisyn Johnson, Ava Johnson, and Leah Johnson; great grandchildren Aubrianna and Zeppelin Witcher, Alayna and Cole Johnson.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Stanford and Louella Hunt Johnson, his grandparents, and brother Donald Johnson (Nancy).

Harold Retired from USX with 44 years of service. After retirement he worked for Marcus truck Rental in Highland, IN. He so loved drag racing his car at US 30 Dragstrip in his younger years and later enjoyed just watching races and spending time at the local flea Market.

Friends and family may visit at Rendina Funeral Home 5100 Cleveland St. Gary, IN on Thursday, 2/20 from 10:00-1:00p.m. A funeral service will be at 12:00p.m. at Rendina Funeral Home  with interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.
