George Hudak age 95 of Cedar Lake passed away peacefully with family by his side Tuesday December 3, 2024. He was born on March 7, 1929 in Palin, Czechoslovakia.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Peggy, son George Hudak Jr. and daughter Shelly R. Rebenack, brother Michael Hudak, sisters Ann Bristol and Lillian Ross.
Survived by sons Jeff Hudak, Greg Hudak, daughter Lisa (Brian) Meier, daughter in law Mary Hudak, son in law Rick Rebenack and sister Dorothy Samsel. Eight grandchildren Jason, Jessica, Melissa, Josh, Jake, Jamie, Kelly and Ashley. Thirteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
George came to the United States at the age of seven. Eleven years later joined the Marines and served 2 years until the passing of his father. On November 10, 1950 he married the love of his life Peggy N. Tomerlin and were married 70 years. George worked a few jobs until starting his own successful business as a Cement contractor until he retired. A few of his favorite things were fishing, playing cards and chatting with friends and neighbors.
Memorial Services for George and Peggy will be held on Sunday January 5, 2025 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel 7535 Taft St. Merrillville, IN.
Immediately following there will be a service with Minister David Weeks and private burial on Monday.
