Our beloved Evelyn A Cantanvespi passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family at the age of 85 on Tuesday, February 20th 2024.
Evelyn was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 17th, 1938. She was the oldest of 9 children. Evelyn had adventurous soul and traveled a lot during her younger years. She had a beautiful smile, out going personality, and loved to make friends. She was a woman of faith who attended Impact Christian Church in Merrillville, Indiana. Evelyn loved the town of Merrillville and made it her home for the past 30 years.
Evelyn is survived by : sisters Diane and Tina, daughter Deborah (James) Whitehouse, sons Randy (Ken Ford) Hoffman, and Ronald Hoffman, 21 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents Nick and Mary, brothers Jerry, Nicholas, Nick jr. and sisters Stella and Sharon. Ex husband Harold C. Hoffman, sons Harold, Danny, and daughter Charmaine.
We would like to send a heart felt thank you to the doctors and nurses at Methodist hospital, Steve and Pat from Methodist home health, and the wonderful folks at Traditions Health for providing hospice care during the last few weeks of her life.

Mrs Cantavespie was a beautiful patient of mine we used to have talks and we would laugh all the time she will truly be missed She loved her family and they loved and took wonderful care of her praying strength for all
