Esther “Mousie” Sanchez, 99, of Gary, Indiana, passed away on November 20, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Sanchez; mother, Vicenta Duenas; father Alexander Duenas; sisters, Mary Hernandez and Linda Hernandez; and brothers, Lawrence Duenas and Ralph Duenas. She is survived by her son, Trinidad (Rita) Sanchez; sister, Alberta Cordova; grandchildren, Tom (Candice) Broadaway, Raina Felty (Wes Dymowski), Heather (Shane) Kitchen, and T.J. (Katie) Sanchez; and great-grandchildren, Tyson Broadaway, Trace Sanchez, and Everett Sanchez.

A devout Catholic, Esther was proud of her deep love for the lord and her family. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, and grandmother.

A visitation for Esther will be held on December 5, 2025  from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be December 6, 2025 at 9:30 am.  All services will be held at Rendina Funeral Home, 5100 Cleveland St. Gary, IN 46408. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery.
