Ella Marie Pante’ (nee Muffoletto), age 94, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, in Texas.

She was born in Gary, Indiana, to Sam and Rose Muffoletto, both of whom precede her in death. She is also preceded in death is her beloved husband, Phillip Pante’ Sr.; and sisters: Tina Barnese and JoAnn Napoli.

Ella is survived by her 5 children: Al (Vicky) Pante’, Mary Ann (Dennis) Stanko, Phillip Pante’ Jr., Sam Pante’, and Rose Marie (Jerry) Pineda, as well as by thirteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Ella was a graduate of Horace Mann High School and was a talented and accomplished opera singer. After wedding her dear husband, Ella led a very busy and fulfilled life, never failing to have a smile on her face. They made their home in Miller (Gary), IN, where she was very involved in the community and with her children. She held the position of Precinct Committee Woman for many years and in 1969 she co-founded the Miller Girls Softball organization.

Ella held a variety of roles while raising her children, among them, helping her husband run Phil’s Shoe Repair (later Phil & Son’s Locksmith), as well as helping her son (Al) at Phil & Son, Inc. Her favorite pastime was entertaining and cooking for family and friends. Ella loved her family greatly and showed it through her home-cooked meals.

She had many hobbies including ceramics, crochet, and playing cards with her Crown Point Lady’s Lunch Club. She was also a long-time member of Princepessa Maria De Piemonte (Italian Woman’s Club).

Funeral Services will be Friday, September 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Rendina Funeral Home, (5100 Cleveland St., Gary, IN.) with Fr. Dominic Bertino officiating. Burial immediately to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, August 31, 2023, 4:00 – 7:00 PM, also at the funeral home. For information, please call 219-980-1141
