REMEMBERING

Edward P. Pusateri

1958

-

2025

Edward P. Pusateri, lovingly known as “Big Ed”, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. Edward passed away peacefully at the age of 67, surrounded by family. Born on May 29, 1958, he lived a life defined by love, loyalty, and hard work until his passing on June 4, 2025.

Born with a heart as big as his nickname, Big Ed dedicated 45 proud years as a Local 150 Operating Engineer. His work ethic was unmatched, and his loyalty to his union brothers unwavering. He was the kind of man who showed up early, stayed late, and gave everything he had, not just on the job, but in every part of life.

Edward was the rock of his family and could fix anything. He cherished his role as a father and grandfather, and took the greatest pride in watching his family grow. He was the one everyone turned to- always there when needed, ready to help, listen, or lend his strength. He lived with honesty, generosity, and a deep sense of responsibility to those he loved. Edward believed in doing right by people. His presence was larger than life, but it was his kindness and steady support that made him unforgettable.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Leonard and Barbara.
He is survived by his beloved children: Angela (Bobby), Kimberly (Rob) Fulton, Patricia (Kurt) Robinson, and Edward Jr. (Desirae); his dear siblings, Debra (Mark) Wacnik and Timothy (Tracy) Pusateri; his cherished grandchildren: Leeza (Zack), Gabriella (aka “Sally”), Taylor, Tristan, Bailey, Kinley, and Conrad; and his admired great-grandchildren Rolland and Marvin; and his numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025 from 9am- 10:30 am at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel (7535 Taft Street, Merrillville, IN 46410).

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am at Holy Martyrs Parish (801 W 73rd Ave, Merrillville, IN 46410)

Funeral procession and burial services to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery (2305 W 73rd Avenue, Merrillville, IN 46410)

I am so saddened by this news, Ed is going to be missed by all that knew him. I am sorry that I can not be there for the family and to say my last goodbyes. I am proud to have called him my friend. We have spent a lot of great times together over the years. Hell with the whole family. I just want you all to know that you are in my prayers 🙏 ❤️.

Ed was truly an amazing role model as a father and grandfather. Of all life‘s gifts and earthly blessings Ed acquired,
his unselfish character to love, to guide, and to provide was evident as he proudly led his family. Beyond a doubt, Ed knew at life’s end, the only thing that really mattered was the positive impact he made in his children’s and grand children’s lives. “You lived it in excellence, Ed.” Love, Mimsey

Ryland and I are devastated. Ed was so good to us, we felt a part of his family. This obituary is absolutely true in every word. An outstanding man, no one like him. Rest in peace, Ed, and peace be granted to the family in this time of grief. Mary and Ryland Sherman

My thoughts and prayers are with all of the Pusateri family. I grew up with Debbie, Eddie, and Tim. We were neighbors. Eddie was a great guy and I am so sorry to hear of his passing.
