Djuradj Ilic, age 86 of Crown Point, born Nov. 6th, 1937 passed away peacefully on Feb. 20th, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years Milica Ilic; parents Djuradj (Djukan) and Milica Ilic, brother’s Mirko, Jovo, Sako, and Dmitar.

Djuradj is survived by three beloved children, two sons, Mike (Beba) Ilic, George (Anita) Ilic and his daughter Millie Munchenburg; six adored grandchildren, Chrystal Karamchandani, Michael Ilic, Brandon (Pamela) Ilic, Michelle (Matt) Batchelder, Justin (Kaitlyn) Munchenburg, and Ariana Ilic and two great-granddaughters Ellie Ilic and Emmy Munchenburg; brother Petar (Rosa) Ilic, sister Boja (Milan) Mislenkov. Several nieces and nephews across Serbia , Croatia, France, and America.

Djuradj was a long time standing member of the St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Merrillville, IN. He came to America from the former Yugoslavia in 1973 to find a better life for his family. He retired from US Steel Mill in 2000 after several years of dedicated service. He was a very determined and hard working man who loved spending time with his family and friends and never missed a year of hosting his Slava. He so loved his children, and grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Love you dad! Until we see you again!

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 11:30 am at St Elijah Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 8700 Taft St, Merrillville. Visitation beginning at 10:30 am with V.
