Diora Ann Lockhart, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024, at the age of 83. She departed this world surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Diora was born on August 26th, 1940, and resided in Merrillville, IN. Diora, who often went by “Diane”, was a beloved mother, and a compassionate grandmother and great grandmother. She found joy in trying new recipes, reading novels, seeing friends old and new, and baking her famous desserts for her family.
Diane worked at McDonald’s for over 25 years. She was a friendly face to all who worked there and had fond memories of her time at McDonald’s. She loved spending time with her grandkids, attending their sporting events, school functions and milestone celebrations. Diana also enjoyed hosting holiday gatherings and baking for her family. She loved to make new and exciting recipes but was known for her delicious apple slices, fudge, and French silk pie.
She is survived by her sons: Bill Jr. “Rocky” (Robin), and Steven (Danielle); grandkids: Nikki, Brian (Brittany), Camden, and Ellie; great granddaughters: Payton and Ava; and many family and friends. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Lockhart Sr.; and brother, Sonny (Shirley) Redman.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 1:00 – 6:00 PM at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel (7535 Taft Street, Merrillville, IN). Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her honor.
