Denny J.  Nichols, age 69, of Merrillville, IN passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023. Denny is preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Georgia (Angelov) Nichols; his parents, Denny and Eva Nichols and his sister Elizabeth Nichols.

Denny is survived by brother; Chris Nichols; Sister in law; Angie (Tony) Budzevski and brother in law; Chris (Christine) Angelov; nephews and nieces; Michael (Sanja) Budzevski, Jason (Carolyn) Budzevski, Stephanie (Andrew) Hofer, Alex Angelov and Christa (Josh) Flatt, and many great nieces and nephews: Sabrina, Olivia, Steven, Mark, Luka, Emma, Drew, and Lucas.

Denny had over 30 years of service with the Nipsco company before retiring. He was a master welder and designed and created  many beautiful pieces which he always gave away for others to love. One of his greatest joys was when he made the two Orthodox Crosses on the brick walls outside the Sts. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church. He loved his pole barn which he built himself, and spent many hours working on welding projects. He was a mentor to many when it came to welding, electrical and overall passion for working with his hands. He was an avid reader and had an extensive library of books. He was a private man, but one of the kindest souls you could ever have the pleasure of talking with.

We are blessed to have had such a wonderful man in our lives, and may he rest in eternal peace with his beloved wife, Georgia. May his memory remain forever in our hearts.
