David Lee Bandy, age 64, unexpectedly passed away on December 8, 2025.
David was born on October 10 th , 1961 in Hammond, Indiana. He graduated from George Rogers Clark class of 1979. He was a member of the marching band. He worked at the University of Chicago for over 30 years. He enjoyed bowling and watching Nebraska football. He loved nature and being outdoors. He loved going camping on the weekends and joining in the weekend festivities. He was an avid fisher and hunter. One of his favorite places was the hunting cabin.
David is survived by his adoring children; Timothy Bandy and Jessica (David) Latta; grandchildren; Camden Cleek, Addison and Fiona Latta; loving girlfriend, Sandy Hedrick; mother, Martha Bandy; brothers, Robert, Kevin, and Michael (Rose) Bandy and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Bandy.
In honor of him, please wear your favorite camo or flannel.
Friends may visit with family 4-8PM on Thursday December 18 th at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 7535 Taft Street, Merrillville, IN Funeral Visitation at 10am at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel followed by Interment at Ridgelawn Cemetery, 4401 W Ridge Road, Gary, IN

I worked with Dave and he was such an alright guy. He was always there for anyone who needed him. I am so sorry for his loss and for the loss of his family. May God be with you all during this time 💐
