Carol Terry Carol Terry, 68, of Gary, IN passed away November 11, 2023. Carol Terry was born on January 24, 1955, to Samuel and Louise Jones in Gary, Indiana, and accepted Christ at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. Carol faithfully served as an usher, secretary, and ordained deaconess under the leadership of Pastor Sam Williams, Jr. at Grace Missionary Baptist Church.

Carol graduated from Horace Mann High School in Gary, Indiana in 1973. Her family remembers her first job was with Sears in Chicago and from that she developed a lasting career in Illinois and Northwest Indiana. Deaconess Carol Terry and Deacon Marty Terry were joined as husband and wife on August 16, 1997, at Grace Missionary Baptist Church and grew in their love and faithfulness to God and each other.

Preceding Carol in death are her mother and father; her brother, Larry Jones; and sister, Dorothy D. Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband, Marty L. Terry; niece, Joyce (Robert) Williams; nephew, Anthony (Linda) Jones; special great nieces and nephews, Darletta Haley; Keithphanna (Stephanie) Johnson; Shannon Sims; John Sims; sisters-in-law, Alita (Ernest) MacGinnis, Nedra Terry; brother-in-law, Dennis (Sharon) Terry and a host of family and friends.

Visitation for Carol will be Monday November 27, 2023 from 9:00am-11:00am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. All services will be held at Grace Missionary Baptist Church, 1505 West 25th Ave. Gary, IN 46404. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery. Rev. Felix Chambliss officiating.
